Re-tape® replaces your original automotive badge’s single-use adhesive with new OEM-grade adhesvie tape, utilising our in-house CAD designed badge pattern library for computer-cut precision, returning your badge to its factory-level standard, eliminating the need to buy a new replacement badge.

Step-by-Step Process:

1

Post your badge to us, we recommend a tracked, signed for service via Royal Mail or a reputable courier, alternatively if you require a rapid same day turn around, why not use our White-Glove service.

2

Once your badge has arrived into our facility, it is electronically checked in, where a digital photo is taken to securely document its condition. Our team of technicians carefully cleanse and decontaminates the badge, removing all residual adhesive, dirt, and oils. Revealing a fully prepped, clean, contamination-free application surface.

3

Your badge’s unique design is computer-cut via our in-house CAD powered pattern library from OEM-grade adhesive tape. The Re-tape® is applied by hand, ensuring perfect fit and alignment.

4

Quality Check: Each badge is thoroughly inspected for alignment and adhesion consistency, before leaving our facility.

5

Return Shipment: Your Re-tape® badge is carefully packaged into our mailing box and shipped back to you securely via APC Overnight Secure Service – tracking number is emailed to you via APC so you can check-in where your badge is on its return leg to you.

6

Reinstallation: Simply position/align your badge or for individual letters/numbers use the supplied installation stencil to ensure alignment/spacing is precise, simply peel off the backing liner and firmly press your badge to the vehicle surface. Your badge is now re-installed.

7

It is recommended you do not clean or jet-wash around the badge for at least 72 hours, to allow full curing of the adhesive. Its advisable to avoid using any harsh chemicals on the badge.

1

There are muliple YouTube/online videos showing various methods of badge removal. We have historically used the fishing line method, this is generally the cleanest badge removal process.

Re-tape® is not responsible for the removal of your badge.

2

Prior to badge removal, it is important to reference where the badge is positioned on the vehicle. Taking a photo which includes reference points of a boot/trunk lid, lights, number plate, windows/doors is ideal, even taking measurements from a reference point will all aid the reinstallation of your Re-tape® badge.

3

Package your badge ensuring it is secure, ideally placing it into a rigid box to prevent any potential damage in transit.

1

Clean the vehicles surface: Ensure the area is dry and free from dirt, dust, oils or other contaminants.

2

Use your pre removal photo, reference point or any other alignment marks, for secure positioning of your Re-tape® badge. If your badge is a combination of individual letters/numbers we will provide an installation stencil which gives the correct spacing between digits. Position the stencil where you would like the badge to be placed. Secure the stencil in place using a low tack removable tape, peel off each digits release liner backing one at a time, slowly place each digit through its corresponding stencil window (stencils are an exact mirror of the spaced badge as per the manufacturer’s guidelines). Firmly press each badge into place.

Tip: A gentle, firm press over the badge ensures long-lasting adhesion.

3

Cure Time: Avoid washing the vehicle for 72 hours for optimal adhesion.

Replace the tape, not the badge.
